The Southall Nagar Kirtan is a walk by thousands of the Sikh community singing holy hymns which normally takes place early April over 3 days in London.
Many food stalls are presented along the walk giving out free drinks, food and fruit for people who embark on this journey of faith towards the Sikh religion. Even passer-byers are seen to join in as sign of respect and spiritual enlightenment. It is said that the walk is a peaceful and joyous one as the sacred Guru Granth Sahib is carried alongside devotes.
It is a free event with a lot of security to overlook the proceedings. The religious ceremony will take place in the morning at 10am by the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Park Avenue and finish at Norwood Hall.
